Long Legs vs. Long Torso: Why Two Tall Women Can Need Different Fits
Two women can be the same height and still need very different clothing proportions.
Height tells us total stature, not where that height is distributed.
Long Legs
When more of a customer's height is in the legs, inseam and knee placement may become the first fit issues. Pants can run short, flares can start too high, and cargo details can miss the knee.
Long Torso
When more of a customer's height is in the torso, the customer may wear a shorter inseam than another woman at the same height while still needing more room through bodysuits, jumpsuits, tops, waist placement, and rise.
Why This Matters
This is why advice based only on height can fail tall women. Two women of the same height may need different inseams, different torso room, and different rise even when they wear the same numerical size.
TJL's Fit Rule
Use height to start the conversation. Use proportion to finish it.
